In-house course
Microsoft Power Automate Training — automate the approvals and hand-offs
One or two days, building flows for the approvals, reminders and copy-paste jobs your team does every week.
- Duration
- 1–2 days
- 7–14 hours
- Delivered
- At your premises
- Including Sarawak and Sabah
- HRD Corp ceiling
- RM21,000
- For 2 days, whole group
What your team will be able to do
- Identify which of your processes are good candidates for automation, and which are not
- Build automated, instant and scheduled cloud flows from triggers and actions
- Create multi-stage approval flows with reminders and escalation
- Move data between Microsoft Forms, Outlook, SharePoint lists, Excel tables and Teams
- Use conditions, loops and expressions to handle real-world variation
- Add error handling and run-history checks so failures are noticed
- Understand standard versus premium connectors and what your licence allows
- Document and share flows so they do not depend on one person’s account
Who it is for
- · Admin, HR, procurement and finance teams with form-and-approval processes
- · Organisations on Microsoft 365 that have never switched Power Automate on in practice
- · Power users who already build Excel reports and want to automate the steps around them
- · IT teams who want business users building flows within agreed rules
When something else fits better
- · Teams not on Microsoft 365 — the course depends on it
- · Large-scale robotic process automation programmes — that is a specialist engagement
- · Developers building custom connectors or enterprise integrations
About this course
Every office has work that is not really work: forwarding a form for approval, chasing the approver, copying the approved details into a register, emailing the requester, saving the attachment into the right folder. Each step takes a minute. Together they take hours a week and fail quietly when someone is on leave. Power Automate exists to take that layer away, and most companies on Microsoft 365 already have access to it.
This course teaches staff to build those flows themselves, starting with the ones that pay back fastest: approvals, notifications, and moving data between Outlook, Forms, SharePoint, Excel and Teams. The second day, where included, goes further into conditions, loops, error handling and the governance a company needs before flows spread across departments.
Scoping starts with a list of your own repetitive processes. The trainer picks two or three that suit the group and the licences you hold, and those become the course exercises — so the team leaves with flows running, not with a sample built on someone else’s form.
Cost and funding
Who pays for it
In-house training is priced per group, not per person, and HRD Corp reimburses it per group too — up to RM10,500 per full day where the provider and course are registered and your company applies before the training. Put in your numbers to see what your levy covers.
The levy ledger
What your company already contributes, what this costs, and what is at risk if nobody claims.
Your monthly levy
RM3,000
1% of monthly wages — compulsory
HRD Corp reimburses up to
RM21,000
About RM1,400 per person at 15 people
At risk of forfeiture
RM62,000
Two years of contributions above the RM10,000 floor, if no claim is made
At your contribution rate, the claimable ceiling for this course is roughly 7.0 months of levy — money already leaving the payroll every month whether it is used or not.

Questions
›Is Power Automate included in our Microsoft 365 subscription?
Many Microsoft 365 business and enterprise plans include Power Automate for cloud flows using standard connectors such as Outlook, SharePoint, Excel and Teams. Premium connectors and some capabilities need an additional Power Automate licence.
We check what your plan includes during scoping and build the exercises within it, so the flows the team builds will run in production.
›Do participants need to know how to code?
No. Power Automate is built for business users, and most useful flows need no code at all. The two-day version introduces simple expressions, explained step by step.
›One day or two?
One day gets a group building approvals, notifications and data flows confidently. Two days adds conditions, loops, error handling and governance, which matters once flows start supporting important processes. Most teams starting from nothing choose one day and come back for the second once flows are in use.
›Is it HRD Corp claimable?
Yes, where the training provider and the specific course are registered with HRD Corp and the employer applies for the grant before the training takes place.
›Should our IT team be involved?
Ideally, yes. Flows touch company data and accounts, and a short conversation with IT during scoping avoids building something that policy will later switch off.
›Which processes should we automate first?
The best first candidates are frequent, rule-based and currently done by hand: a leave or purchase request that goes to a fixed approver, a form that someone copies into a register, a weekly reminder someone sends from memory. They pay back quickly and are easy to test.
Processes that depend on judgement, change every month, or run inside an old desktop system without a connector are poorer first choices. The trainer sorts your list into those two groups during scoping.
